We have a “mini” bellpepper and we went searching for non-lame Halloween decorations

Grandma and I picked the niece and nephew up from school Thursday as the CW died Thursday morning and for some reason my brother’s ex-wife couldn’t be bothered with picking them up and telling them that the CW, their other grandmother that they haven’t seen in many years, died.  BTW – the nephew calls her “Georgina” (not her name but rhymes with it) and the niece is still calling her “that lady.”  We get to take the kids to the funeral tomorrow.  I’m taking my video camera.

The tiny bellpepper I picked is finally turning red, the color it is supposed to be:

Also, Thursday afternoon the kids and I drove around to find tacky Halloween decorations to take pictures of.  I explained to the niece that we could ONLY take pictures of decorations that weren’t lame.  Her new favorite word is now lame and she’s calling EVERYONE and EVERYTHING lame.  Also, the kids took the pictures and I found out that the nephew is obsessed with the zoom feature – those funky pictures are not posted below.

I seriously could not believe that more people in this town are not decorating for Halloween!  I thought for sure there would just be blow-up decorations everywhere!  There weren’t!  However, we did find this house over on Gregg Avenue:

I especially love the bloody handprints on the column – and am really loving the handprint that’s missing a finger!

We also saw this – which was the only decoration at this house:

And to add to my strange churches list:

First of all, I know there is no steeple but they knocked out the wall of this joint to add some doors and a cross made out of white bricks and that’s freaking impressive and shows commitment!  Second, the nephew didn’t believe it was once someone’s house – until we rolled up a little further and he saw the old front door.  Third, it’s called the Church of Divine Destiny!

We then went back home for target practice.
